IAF activates another road stretch as an emergency airstrip

IAF conducts operations on ELF airstrip in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh. Sukhoi-30MKI fighters and Hawk advanced jet trainers successfully carried out “low overshoots”. ELFs provide flexibility during conflicts and HADR missions. NHAI constructs ELFs in various states including five in Assam; four in West Bengal; three each in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
